On April 1, Occupy DC and the Anarchist Alliance marched on a variety of
corporate targets downtown. Stops included ALEC, Bloomfield
Properties("owner" of Zucotti Square), Monsanto, and many others.
The Anarchist Alliance organized a Black Bloc for this march, in part as
a training exercise for upcoming protests at the IMF meetings and
subsequently on Mayday and therafter (G8/NATO/DNC/RNC), for which a nationwide general strike is planned
by Occupy groups.
Since this bloc was for solidarity and for training, the "payload"
action of the Bloc was something simple and not technically illegal:
chalking slogans on the street.
Autonomy and diversity of tactics being what they are, someone managed
to take things to the next level at Monsanto, with slogans chalked on
the side of their headquarters. Shortly therafter, cops arrested one
person. The Bloc swarmed the cops but wasn't fast enough(this time) to
achieve a sucessful unarrest.
The person arrested was out two hours later, by which time the chalk on
the building had long been washed away. No word if the person arrested
had anything to do with the chalking, of course.

All these liberal artsy folk seem to get more enjoyment from putting on an act rather than trying to get anything done. There are more 'pieces of art' and songs about Occupy than actual solutions.
Hope that Arts degree is paying off.

@absu69 No-"boutique activism" comes from liberal Democrats, not street-hardened Anarchists

@yorba On which target? Monsanto? ALEC? Bloomfield? I agree they all deserve it, but for the moment all drones flown by activists are unarmed. Sea Shepherd and an East Coast animal rights group have surveillance drones at this time.

@Steinagus And not organized enough to merit the heated military terminology used by dc. This movement has fetal alcohol syndrome.
"Intermediate target" lol

@ChumCannon It was between us and our primary objective, thus making it an intermediate target. Don't worry, this will escalate. The more the pigs crack down, the harder we will fight. Look at what Assad got for his crackdown!

@dcdirectactionnews What did Assad get for his crackdown? A UN condemnation? Nobody gives a shit about the impotent UN.

@ChumCannon Assad DOES give a shit about the armed insurgency in Syria, about the bombings(some BIG ones a couple weeks ago!), and about the fact that if he loses the war he faces almost certain execution unless he can escape Syria.
