Polish media have reported that two of its country's troops were killed and four injured when a mine exploded under their vehicle in central Wardak province, west of the capital, Kabul, on Friday.
IEDs have become the weapon of choice for the Taliban against foreign troops and are estimated to account for three-quarters of all coalition deaths.
This year has been the deadliest for NATO since the US-led operation to oust the Taliban regime began in 2001. More than 400 foreign troops have died so far in 2009.
