  • Let's see if we can find anything inside here that would justify what we just did. Let's assassinate this man's character that we just killed.

  • They found drugs in his apartment...

    They dealt with him before....

In no way does this justify or minimalize these law enforcement personnel's actions.

They failed to follow proper protocols and a man paid for it with his life.

And for that, they have to answer.

    • @Hiarken Yeah it's funny how the cops said, "had he not had a gun" as people were banging on his door at 1:30 in the AM, he wouldn't have been shot?!?!?!?!?!? Are you fucking kidding me? And what drugs did he have that justified them shooting him.....those pigs are pussy footing around why they fucked up. The guys that shot him will end up with paid suspensions and get to keep their jobs.....un-be-fucking-lievable

    • @Hiarken It's like they are trying to find an extenuating circ. for killing him even tho neighbors say he was a good person. And if they knew him already they have even less excuse for knocking on his door instead of the other guy's.

    • @khamomil Yeah, sad ain't it?

Understand something, I respect good law enforcement officers, but shit like this fucks with an already tough duty.

It makes good cops look bad, and gets them killed.

  • wtf man, Knocking on a mans door at o' dark stupid in the morning probally scared the shit out of him. Of course he would answer the door with a gun if he had one. Who goes around knocking on a persons door that early in the morning. stupid cops should have said they where cops, poor guy probally thought they where going to rob him or something. his family should sue the fuck out of those douche bag cops.

Or he could have called the cops and not answered the door with a gun in his hand.

    • @Captain Canuck ok so your gonna call the cops every time somebody knocks on your door? The cops should have said they where cops. This happened in quebec afew years ago. The cops decided to raid a local drug dealer at 4 in the morning. They burst through the door without saying shit and one of them was killed by the drug dealer becuase he thought a rival was out to get him. He got away with it becuase the cops dident say they where cops.

Ok so you're gonna grab a gun every time somebody knocks on your door?

You really see a connection with officers bursting through a door unannounced and two officers knocking on a door? Seriously?

      Posted Jul-17-2012 By

    • @Captain Canuck well you should grab a gun if somebody knocks on your door at 1:30 in the morning. God knows who it could be. In any case the cops should have stated they where cops while knocking, or bursting through the door.

    • @cdnspr

Of course! What reasonable person wouldn't grab a gun and go answer the door?

So you're sticking with not calling the police when someone knocks at your door at 1:30? You're soooo afraid of who might be knocking that you are willing to grab a gun, but not call the police?

Like I said in a previous comment, the officers were looking for someone who attempted to murder a guy. They don't know what weapons he has access to. You really think the officers should announce who they are s More..

  • Murder by police. Those who fired shots should spend a minimum of 10 years in prison. ALL police forces should revise the policy of surprising criminals in the night so that this does not happen.

    • @Yukon6400 You know, this is exactly what this was. They failed to identify themselves and then shoot the guy for holding a gun. It is not that hard to think that they could (and maybe should) be charged with murder because they had weapons drawn showing intent. Either way they slice it, they either murdered a guy or they are shitty cops...neither of which should be allowed to work in law enforcement.

Good point. Calling them on the phone first is always the most efficient way to catch people wanted for attempted murder. The officers should have called ahead and made an appointment.

Is that the only alternative you can think of? It used to be that innocent life was valued such that it was better to let a guilty man go free than to imprison, execute, or harm an innocent man. Such value placed on life has been displaced by a rabid call for police action. Let's hope the policy makers who will or should be sued by all innocent people shot and killed by police have a greater imagination than you do.

Come on man! The guy goes to the door with a gun in his hand and confronts two cops who were looking for an attempted murder suspect, and you're shocked that he was shot? Really?

How about this? The guy picks up the phone and calls the police instead of opening the door with a gun in his hands. Is that imaginative enough for you?

  • this is typical, dumbass cops out on a power trip ready to shoot anything in sight. they were looking for a gunfight thats why they never id'd themselves. i hate how they have to try and put down the guy that was killed by saying he had drugs in the apartment and that he came to the door with a gun pointing. if someone is banging on my door at 1:30 in the morning you better believe i will have my gun in hand. all this is going to turn into is saying that citizens shouldnt be able to have guns More..

  • again, why open the fucking door at all if you think you'll need a gun for what is on the other side? how about yell "i have a gun, who the fuck is it?"

right and dead is the same as wrong and dead. if you are going to own a gun, use some common fucking sense with it.

    • @uschairforcesgt holding a gun makes people feel invincible for some reason...fire an AK on full auto, and tell me you dont feel like a boss even for a split second :p

    • @8fl0z i have a dozen or so guns, everything from a pellet gun to a 12 gauge, ak, and i just bought my second M4 last week. ill be just as dead as anyone if i get myself shot for being careless. ive had a shit ton of cqb training and i would never consider purposely walking out into a situation that i would need a gun in hand for. the best defense is to stay out of those situations.

lets say the guys outside were armed robbers, instead of cops. he would be just as dead. never open a door that More..

Who answers the door with a gun? Someone who sells drugs does. But naturally there are people here who dismiss the found drugs as planted by the cops.

  • ROTTEN TO THE CORE..

cops have bullet proof vests, good guns, professional training..
    yet NO COMMON SENSE!!

Yes, you can expect someone to have a gun on them at 1:30 AM when a stranger is knocking on their door!

Cops clearly broke the law and their procedures.
How come they arent in jail or ATLEAST brought up on charges?

Worst case for the cops, the judge will let them off with a warning.
MORE Likely, someone in the department will screw up the case (on purpose) and have the case throw More..

  • Not to one-up this story BUT....out here in Elk Grove calif we had a cop shoot a hand cuffed suspect while he was sitting in the back seat of the cops car !!
Then b4 'internal' investigation could arrive on the scene the cops friends drove him to a secret location. No officer was ever charged with any crime !
Try to top that Florida !!
    --------
What pisses me off is that there are many many good cops who do their job well and its a job I wouldn't want to do.

Believe it happened in Madera, California as well. Female cop shot an unarmed handcuffed suspect while sitting in the back of the squad car! I think the cop claimed she meant to shoot him with the taser instead. Could have been the same story but I'm pretty damn sure it was Madera. I'll have to look it up...

  • "Had drugs in his house." "Been arrested before." So that's makes it ok that he's dead? Damn media. If they identified themselves at the door, he probably would have answered the door WITHOUT his gun drawn and would still be alive.
