Difficult to believe that gunpowder if simply put on the floor merely burns, It's being confined that causes problems as it burns fast and produces tremendous ammounts of gas (like me after curry)which is what makes the explosion/driving force also gunpowder is self oxygenating so don't waste your time trying to put it out run away it's life prolonging. LOL

All I can say is never hop on a ship that has a containerload of waterfalls on it OMG I thought gunpowder was supposed to be a low powered explosive.

@lozzah666 Low power? I don't know, but up to the second half of the 19th century this was the only explosive, and people have used it pretty successfully to blow each other up. It may not be as powerfull as modern explosives, it explodes and does not detonate (there is a big difference), but in those quantities... I mean, these are tons of the stuff.
