Saint Louis Bugout: 2x Radioactivity in Barlow, Ky Rain

After our "Maximum Alert" based on a recent Barium-140 detection and increased Jet Stream radioactivity detected by the Radiation Network, we decided to take advantage of the Memorial Day weekend and drive 9 hours southeast to Rock City to get out of the Jet Stream.

On the return trip bugging back into Saint Louis, we rain into one quick rain storm just outside of Barlow, Ky. A quick sample swipe returned a reading of 2x background radiation, a value which we consider to be in the Pre-Fukushima range.

  • When events happen (911 etc.) conspiracy theorists emerge.

When disasters happen (Fukushima etc.) alarmists emerge.

It's just like when I water my garden the weeds grow too!

Can I make some new words?

How about for conspiracy theorist - contheorist.

    For disasters - dislarmist.

  • Damn I don't even have a GPS in my car let alone a radiation detector.

  • What does all this mean?

    • @mlaguna

We had a ground beef sample test positive for short half life fission product Barium-140, then there was a separate elevated detection of increased radioactivity in the Jet Stream heading towards Saint Louis. We took that as a sign to take advantage of the Memorial day holiday to get away from that Jet Stream. Given that the Japanese just published they found large amounts of Iodine 131 in mid-May, it turns out it was a prudent measure to avoid the Jet Stream
