In 1978 I traded in my beat up Big Wheels and got a Big Green Machine.I loved this little trike.My mom however didn't.I ripped a good many pairs of pants falling off the trike.

  • First Christmass me and my sister both got Big Wheels then i burned out my front plastic wheel so it was open raw plastic on the sides cried to mom and dad then got the Green Machine next Christmas,this had to be back in 78,79,or 1980 badest ride to have back then for sure next to a Shwinn Sting Ray with the little wheels on the front. This add definately brings back the mem's Don"t forget Evil Kenivel was the toy line to have back then too.

    • @RickBond Yup,when i was like 12 my dad got me a Schwinn stingray "cotton picker" just like this one http://www.nostalgic.net/bicycle465 it was the big thing to have in the neighborhood,all my piers and neighborhood friends had all different ones "orange crate" "olive picker" etc.

  • This was the big item to have in my neighborhood...everyone seemed to have Big Wheels, but the Green Machine outclassed it as far as we were concerned.

      Lucky bastard! I wanted the green machine and the Harley Davidson edition. We lived in a white ghetto at the time and my mom worked at Sears, so I got what I got. lol

  • Green Machine would smash a fat kids face. Radical steering to the back wheels of a trike makes for a bad ride if you're already top heavy. I had a normal steel framed big wheel. It was fun watching other idiots crash these plastics things. good times
