Coalition forces wrap up operations against insurgents in Najaf
The three-day long US operation against insurgents in Najaf ended on Wednesday with more than 400 dead and 600 insurgents captured. The Sunni insurgent group headed by Ali Ibn Abu Talib, declaring himself “The Mahdi”, was trying to take over the Shiite holy city.
