  • If that was a skunk you were talking about you should have let him stay. Great deterrent for burglars, bible thumpers, door/door salesmen, home invaders and SWAT. Yep, the bodge was getting rid of that black and white kitty. :)

    Cheerz, John.

I should have. But the garage doors were new and I couldn't bring myself to cut a hole in them. I ended up installing a hatch a year or two later.

  • Nice bodge! *applause*

Particularly appealing were the minor bodge elements where you used T-brackets instead of joints, that's always a good solid base in which to construct a great bodge! ;)

Have you ever seen a fox penned up at the zoo? They get agitated and start spraying the enclosure. It's a nasty, ammonia smell. For that reason, most high-toned zoos don't keep foxes at all because even the little kids can tell that they hate it there. Skunk smells like that only much more intense.

What's worse is the critter had just ripped open the air ducts right there to make his nest. He might well have put a permanent stink into the house.

When contractors work on my house I try to help out. After a few minutes they say "That plenty of help... you can take a break... really... STOP!"

  • I thought you were going to say it was a racoon. My outside cats get one serving of food a day in the morning. Usually, by evening there is a little left over. The racoons come by at night and clean that up, and the occassional skunk or skunk family. Shoulda known it wasn't a racoon though. The racoons are very dainty eaters and drinkers. Skunks push the food bowl all over and stand in the water dish when they drink, the slobs.

    Good story, John.

  • For some reason, Duct taping some card board cut-outs around the bottom of the tank would have been the way I solved the problem. 1, because its easier, and 2, I'm a lazy fuck.
