Megabus will Not let girl ride for being 30 seconds Late

Recorded on August 18, 2011 in San Anonio - 12:15pm

Girl's grandpa rushed to Megabus stop in San Antonio to catch the SAN - AUS 12:15pm but, She made it there at 12:15pm and 30 seconds late. The Supervisor told her your LATE!! She begged and said "Please, Please, Please" "I was here right at the minute". Megabus supervisor refused while the Megabus started taking off to Austin route.

      I hate being harassed and unduly bullied by some wannabe-important bean counter, especially if I AM on time - like this girl (!), because "thirty seconds late" does not AT ALL matter for that bus, it's not a bloody plane - and there's no reason whatsoever not to throw in her bags and let her enter the bus.

      Well, except if you're a mayor asshole and have to compensate for your tiny dick by shitting paying fucking customers like that.

      We must have read two different stories. Even the title said she was late. When I looked up "late" in the dictionary I found that my previously held belief of being late was correct. Therefore this girl was not on-time as you said. Further, I doubt she was only 30 seconds late. In fact, I'd be willing to bet she didn't even have a ticket yet and the coach was already leaving late because of some other inconsiderate asshole.

  • It's a little bit more complicated than they are making it out to be, for starters they have to open the luggage bays again book the passenger and their luggage on then close the bays again. Meanwhile those that got there early and on time have to sit their and wait. If you look at the bus ticket advisory it usually says get there 30 minutes before the bus departs so they were actually 30 minutes and 30 seconds late.

  • There is no way I would climb on board one of those death machines. Had one crash only about 100 miles from my house a few weeks ago after blowing a front tire. There has been a sting of these buses having tire issues from overloading and heat. They look pretty damn top heavy to me as well. No thanks.

    Of course, these days with the entitlement mentality, child and parents probably expect the other 60 people on the bus to wait for latecomers. Each minute = 1 man hour wasted.

    I'd be blaming MYSELF if I was late, it wouldn't even cross my mind to blame the bus company for leaving ON SCHEDULE. That's generation X thinking for you - outdated, archaic and far from "me me me".

      You're bang on! I used to drive part-time on my days off for Stagecoach Group. That company owns Megabus too. The line runs have ridiculously tight schedules and if the driver has any hope of only being a few minutes late at the next stop, he has to leave on time every time. Some of the passengers get really snippy with the driver when the bus is late.

      30 seconds does seem trivial though. But then again if she had luggage that would mean additional time for the driver t More..
