@boomersooner - Dude, prior to the Constitutional Congress, there had only been ONE basic form of government - Monarchy. The democracy of Greece and Rome were pipe dreams, and not very democratic in modern terms at that.
So Socialism - which the US is mostly - had not even been envisioned, but proved necessary. Why? because the King provided for maintaining a system for nation-wide commerce, local and nationwide law enforcement, courts of justice, etc., etc., etc.

@KillTylerDurden - The DoI is not the Bill of Rights, and it's provisions didn't necessarily make it into the "Final Cut" of the constitution. For Instance, according to the DoI, the South's right to succeed from the Union was legal. Circumstances dictated otherwise.

He bases his reasonings on biased definitions that leave no space for another conclusion about the issue.
Using the same definition of 'right' he says at the start we can conclude that there's no 'right to bear arms' either, as weapons have to be created by somebody else and thus there's no right to that.
