Law Enforcement wants to legalize drugs

Law Enforcement Against Prohibition

Current and retired law enforcement (officers, DEA, Marshals, Judges, etc.) want to end our policy of Prohibition. Watch this 12-minute promotional video and see some reasons why they say what they say.

"Anyone concerned about the failure of our $69 billion-a-year War on Drugs should watch this 12-minute program. You will meet front line, ranking police officers who give us a devastating report on why it cannot work. It is a must-see for any journalist or public official dealing with this issue."-- Walter Cronkite

  • Legalize them all. If you are gonna do them, you are gonna do them, legal or not. If they legalize crack tomorrow is everyone going to smoke it? No, 99% of non-users will remain non-users. The users wont have to steal from us or shoot each other anymore.

    • TRY not to be an arsehole. I know it may be difficult, but you just make yourself sound like some left-wing nutjob.

I am in my 50s, meaning I grew up in the late 60s and early 70s. Even though some of my friends were using all kinds of drugs, I have never even had a single toke. Of anything- besides tobacco, which I quit over 22 years ago. My drug of choice- alcohol- is perfectly legal in any civilized country. Why should marijuana or cocaine be any different? • TomThumb: "im a advocate for a truley free country where there are extreemley few victimless crimes. you should be able to do what you want providing your not effecting anyone else. If people were educated on drugs like myself then we can enjoy them like we do alchol and tobacco. The problem for the government is, your their cattle for makeing money and would u want your cattle going around takeing drugs ? no. sure heroin addicts arnt a pretty site. I dont do heroin not because its illegal but because i know its highley addictive and also when done all the time is very damageing.Educate people not prosicute them. "

  • shed77: "the fundamental flaw in the drug war is mixing morality with drug use in the framework of legality. we identify with illegal as being wrong/evil just like "illegal" mexicans thus the demonizing BS we see on LL. With drugs its very questionable to assign morality to the substance itself although we like to blame actions on the influence of the drugs. i personally think if you are an asshole when you are drunk, its because you're just an asshole. or if you are dumb when you are high, its because you actually dumb."
