Sarah Attar becomes the first woman to compete for Saudi Arabia in the olympics, or any national sport outside the country.
I believe there were two other women representing Saudi Arabia too.

The other Saudi athlete, a judoka, was defeated after 82 seconds of her preliminary qualifying round and that was that. However, she has received a rather frosty reception back home. Apparenly, the radical clerics are branding females who participate as "prostitutes."
