An illegal immigrant filmed himself raping a mother at knifepoint during a brutal two-hour attack in front of her children.

Sang Tran, who will be deported back to Vietnam, broke into the 35-year-old
woman's house in Birmingham and raped her twice in one week.
The victim did not report the first attack to the police, but on the second
occasion she got her eight-year-old daughter to ring 999 after Tran,
26, strangled her and threatened to chop her up with a large machete.

Two of her children tried to push
their mother's attacker away from her but the youngsters did not
understand when she begged them to phone the police.
Tran, of no fixed address, admitted rape and was jailed for 14 years at Birmingham Crown Court.

Judge James Burbidge QC said: 'You
dragged her into the house and you strangled her for a significant
period of time to keep her submissive.
'You added indignity upon your behaviour by filming her.


'She certainly was in a vulnerable position, naked and distressed.


'You produced a machete and threatened to chop her up. One can only contemplate her fear.'


John Attwood, prosecuting, said that Tran barged his way into the victim’s home in the early hours of March 17.

He dragged her upstairs, took her into a bedroom and began squeezing her neck.


Mr Attwood said the woman was struggling to breathe but that, on Tran’s
orders, she instructed her terrified children to go to bed.
Tran then removed her clothing and raped her.


The defendant then produced a mobile phone and filmed her as she tried to protect her modesty.


Mr Attwood said he then took the machete from underneath a mattress and that the distressed victim had pleaded with him.


He said he then dragged her into another room and raped her again.


Tran then went to sleep and the woman, who spoke little English, told her
daughter to alert the police. Officers arrived to discover Tran had
barricaded himself inside a room.
Elizabeth Lowe, defending, said Tran had been living 'under the radar' in the UK since 2005, and had been drinking on the night.
