These cranes are sedentary,not migrating at all. Gregarious out of the breeding season, flocks pair off to reproduce. Grey crowned cranes will sometimes display within the flock, when the activity of one pair can act as a stimulus for other pairs to follow suit, and up to 60 have been observed displaying simultaneously. All crane species are monogamous, apparently, they remain paired for life as long as they breed successfully, but failure may precipitate a change of mate.
