  • It was strange how the state channels talk about electricity increases and even Kareoke contest on live tv without speaking of this but people watching the news can hear the fighting outside the window for hours but the news says everything is fine! in Damascus (all smiles!)
TV news needs to be reformed and recieve new management

It's called living in a dictatorship. State tv broadcasts only whatever the regime wants. A free press starts with not living in a country run by a meniacle crime God-father and his web of paid thugs... It is the Syrian government that needs to be reformed and very definitely "put under new management".

    • @TartousBySEA Sounds like Main Stream Media here in the US. Except for them the sky is falling and we need to run to the welcoming arms of government to keep us safe.

Somehow I don't think your TV is going to get any better if the rebels "win".

      Edit: Typo

    • @TartousBySEA Hope it won't evolve like it's been over in Egypt. Islamic radicals taking over. But the egyptian people doesn't know better. I hope the syrian people have more common sense and the only thing helping Syria is making it a modernized democratic public where you can express yourself without being prosecuted and restrained.

But i don't have any hopes though.

  • This is in Jobar, a village in Damascus suburbs, not central Damascus. :) The FSA have been fighting there for over two weeks without any kind of success, and the use of car bombs in Damascus just shows how desperate they are getting.

    • @thesweed123 lol you don't even know where Jobar is located?
The FSA haven't been able to take control of a SINGLE Syrian major city, saying that they're gonna storm Damascus is really laughable. And the car bombs in Damascus just shows how desperate they are. :)

    • @AntiQadseya002 Desperate? Suicide bombings are not a sign of desperation. Just look at the number of SB's in Iraq, the numbers peak in 2005 (2nd), 2006 (3rd) and 2007 (1st) when the insurgency was at its strongest.

Your comment reminds me of Cheney in '05 talking about the insurgency being in its death throes. This thing is not gonna end for awhile yet, regardless of who ends up winning.

    • @thesweed123 It really just depends on what news channel you watch, and since you're obviously a fan of Jazeera and Arabiya of course you won't hear anything about the SAA advances, specially in Daraa and Homs. :) As for the "clashes" near Al-Abbasyeen roundabout, they're really nothing more than the usual hit and run terrorist tactics, And time will prove that. :)

  • Looks like an air strike. Notice the AAA firing right before

    Posted Feb-25-2013 By

    • @batheinentrails Yup definitely an air strike, but somehow the OP managed to make it a "massive blast targeting SAA army base". lol and I'm the Baghdad bob...

    • @batheinentrails The camera was fixed to that location so they knew something was going to happen there. Plus AAAs are used to augment the firepower on the ground.

    • @A True American Can you imagine Assad hearing that before he goes to sleep? Its like Hitler hearing the Russians battle it out with his crack troops right at his door step. Inch by inch, room by room, the rebels are closing in. Hope he has a bullet left for himself.
