In April 2006, authorities of the Empire State Building arrested Jeb Corliss for attempting, as a professional BASE jumper, to launch himself off the observation deck of the Empire State Building wearing his neo-traditional wingsuit flyer gear. As a result, Corliss and the Empire State Building have sued each other.
