Exactly this is absurd and its been going on for a long time...Does it take this long to intiate changes to police training on how to handle knives? Whatever happene to the use of tazers? What chucking a baton at his hand? A shot to the leg? So many, many options. Clearly, this should be a wake up call to require all officers to have a master;s or higher level of education to perform this job.

a mad man with a knife is a danger and agresive one is a potential danger.. you shouldn't take a risk then feel sorry later, even the risk is very low, you got to take care yourself
