  • Good post. This explains perfectly how liberalis gain popularity by playing on the very strong emotional aspect of the argument only. You cant have the penny and the bun.

  • How ironic that 35 years later Moore has personally proven his point with his overindulgence in cheap processed food.

  • Michael Moore had the opportunity of a life time to ask one of the greatest economists to have walked the face of the earth......a simple question. And what did he do? In his slovenly, whiney approach.....he f'd up a perfectly good question (actuarial liability vs. economics) by attempting to put a "those greedy corporate bastards" spin on a good question.

What a waste of Milton's time.......definitely a gentlemen for dealing with a stain such as Moore.

  • Given how young he was at the time im actualy impressed by his question. No idea why Americans bash Moore, guess the media owned by the companies have done their work.

  • i think friedman had problems expressing himself at first for some reason. the problem really is simple enough to state but has non-emotional logic attached to it. the moment emotion creeps in, the logic changes. Ford fucked up when they sold a vehicle that they knew would explode. I think a government attorney (who speaks for the people) should have been responsible for bringing negligence charges against Ford. And THEN made the public aware of how unsafe the Pinto is. However, if people More..

  • Friedman ignored the fact that the consumer had no way of knowing the Pinto could explode so easily, while Ford DID know this and withheld the information. How does a free market motivate them to divulge this? In a court of law? That comes AFTER you're burnt to a crisp.
