Retro TV Hogan's Heroes 
This video is part of an ongoing project to build a retrospective TV archive made exclusively for the LL community on my Retro TV channel at

A comedy about a German prison camp. Doesn't sound like a formula for laughs. But it is. Could only have been pulled off on the coattails of WWII. Originally broadcast from 1965 to 1971.
An interesting piece of trivia on this show. The them music does have lyrics, they never appear on the show. They can be found on an album called "Hogan's Heroes sing the best of WWII". The drums are played by the star of the show Bob Crane himself, who was also an accomplished drummer.

Another bit of trivia The guy who played Lebeau was a survivor of Buchenwald.
Most of his family went to Auschwitz he was the only survivor.

I have source material for Rat Patrol. Has to be transferred from tape. Was going to do some work on the series tonight. I transfer tapes while I'm editing episodes. Will put Rat Patrol in tonight.

I vote videos I like too. I guess it's sort of like voting in a real election. I vote, but I don't know why and I'm pretty sure it's pointless. lol

Checked, I have them both. Looking at the get smart file now. There are two openings themes here. The original pilot and the more well known opening. What I think I'll do is put the more well known theme first then the rarer alternate pilot episode opening at the end just for fan interest.
Show was from an interesting time in TV. During the Black and white to color crossover. So the pilot episode was made in black and white, the rest of the episodes were in color.
