  • That's a shame. I know that many people think that the US has been responsible for many blue on blue incidents, which may well be true, but that's just one of the risks of war.

I hope we get out of there soon.

R.I.P. to the young lad and I hope the boys in the Apache are ok. I imagine it'll be hard for them as well.

  • I have 3 friends who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan, They all say that the US forces have saved countless british troops lives with their air support, this is just a very sad accident which will probably always happen in the fog of war

    • @american loving brit Yep. I can't stand this war but the number of skirmishes the Yanks have won for the occupiers there with airpower is crazy.

  • This apache pilot should write a letter of apology and be taken off the flight line and given a desk job till his service runs out.

Communication with your men on the ground should always leave you with no doubt who is below you before you pull the trigger.

The apache is a very low and slow airborne asset with tremendous optics and communications. This was entirely avoidable.

The British really do bare the brunt of the USAs blue on blue.

Anyone seen the footage of the US a-10 taking out More..

  • It's hard to believe that we still have incidents of friendly fire. However people and technology are not foolproof and mistakes happen. Being a soldier has always been and will continue to be a dangerous occupation. My deepest sympathies to his family. RIP Lance Corporal Roney

  • I remember when US troops fired a guided Javelin missile at British troops and killed 2 of them I believe it was.

    • @Orwellian_Society
Do you know where I can read about this? The only blue on blue Javelin incident I remember is when the British killed 2 Danish troops.
