Family Called Island Harbor: Hank Bowman

Wanna tell you a story 'bout a place we knew well
We spent many days here, Lord the stories we'd tell
We weathered the hard times, we took care of our own
This little old Harbor is just like our home

Look out to the middle sometimes I just swear
I see our ole buddy Gordie, he's standing right there
I said "how'd ya do for 'em?" He'd smile and he'd wave
He tied up the Hook Shot and just faded away

We miss big Jim Dawson, a mountain of a man
You knew he meant business with the shake of his hand
I remember that day out at Rock 45
They scattered his ashes, we drifted and cried

Look up on the the hill here, behind us in the shade
I see ole George a walkin', the wind blowing his gray
He had a slow way of talking, had a look in his eye
He loved this old island, now he's free and he's flyin'

Times are a changing, a new names on the door
It won't be the same here, not quite like before
We were all brought together, something we're stronger for
We're part of a family called Island Harbor

Thanks Hank

    • Good times. Good people. I live on Chickamauga Lake in Chattanooga, and also have a large houseboat at a marina nearby.
The TVA wont let you have a private dock big enough for my houseboat. I do have a dock, but can only park my Mastercraft there. They restrict the size.
I'm retired and most others at the marina also.
We have a "family", and we do anything for each other.
Boat people are cool. These friends know my home is on the water and it is nothing to get a call in the middle More..

  • It's Friday night! Let's turn this up a bit! Lose the hollow, grab an electric, and crank the amp!! Let's party! Not, fall asleep.
