Another non-paddler. Consider this:
1 gallon of water = roughly 8 lbs.
1 cubic foot of water contains 7.48 gallons.
The Sudbury is currently flowing at 2,139 cubic feet per second, or 556% of normal.
Try some math. How much force is behind that water you scoff at because "it's knee deep"? One piece of plywood, or a submerged tree trunk rolling downstream and you, my friend, are a body recovery.

Nice converse to the video a couple years back of a newswoman in a canoe describing a massive flood and then looking like an idiot as a couple teens ran behind her in water that was only ankle deep.

Professional? Football player, sure. But he's no pro paddler, that's obvious. No PFD, no helmet, paddling flood waters. Flood waters carry debris, which can really F up your day. He's not even wearing a skirt for pete's sake! He drops an edge in that thing and he's swimming, I hope he at least has flotation in the boat.

A professional what ?
No spray deck = a non recoverable roll, he wouldn't even get a brace in before he is over
No buoyancy aid cotton clothing = a early death when he rolls
Knees out straight not under knee braces = a dead cert roll over if he hits moving water and he is sat that far back he has no chance of paddling out of it.
Not a pro Kayak-er thats for sure...
A casualty in waiting I say
