There's no good reason for that tall ship to be out there during this storm. It should have stayed in port. The Captain will be held to blame for his poor decision making. He should have known better.

An impossible situation for that ship. Either you go ashore and get battered to pieces or you stay at sea and try to outrun a storm a thousand miles wide.
