The film features top Irish singer Tommy Fleming and haunting tracks composed by music industry legend Mike Moran. Local people perform throughout to tell the story of their ancestors’ experiences and their desperate attempts to free themselves from famine and poverty.
This unique film is based on a poem by Linda Burrage, who was inspired into writing it after placing a bronze statue of a stag on a promontory outside her home in Glengrarriff, West Cork. "The Lonely Stag" is a journey through Ireland's past, to present, celebrating its peoples determination and grit, a story of hope over adversity.
