A Michigan woman who developed a sexual relationship with a teenage boy she met through an on-line game has been sentenced to more than seven years in prison.
Investigators said Angie Jenkins, 35, met the 15-year-old boy through the game World of Warcraft and travelled to Buffalo in 2010 to have sex with him in a parked car.
Jenkins pleaded guilty in federal court in April to receiving child pornography.Sentenced: Angie Jenkins says was looking for love, not sex when she received images of a 15-year-old boy on her phoneShe received an 87-month prison term Thursday and was ordered to pay $4,480 restitution to the Buffalo, New York, victim.
The boy's parents alerted authorities after noticing numerous out-of-state calls on his cell phone.
Investigators later found graphic images they say he'd sent to Jenkins at her request.
'I have you who takes care of me and worries about me and I appreciate everything you do for me,' she told him in a text message.According to investigators, the teen's parents blocked Jenkins' from his phone.Games: The pair met playing World of WarcraftWhen that didn't work they took the phone away.Jenkins however found other ways of communicating and even bought the teen a new phone so they could continue their liaisons.She then, according to the courts, drove from Michigan to an Amherst department store parking lot where she had sex with the boy in the back of a car.The judge ordered Jenkins receive a mental health evaluation.
