The 4th of January, around 7:20 A.M., soldiers fired a shell near a-Samuni home. Inside the family were sheltering in a room from Israeli bombardment. A few minutes later, soldiers arrived at the house and called on the father of the family to step out.

The father complied and approached the door with his hands over his head and then, without warning, the soldiers opened fire and killed him, in front of his family. They then continued to shoot into the room in which the family was gathered, injuring several members.

After that, the IDF soldiers denied the family medical treatment for the gunshot wounds, and during the night a 4-year old boy bled to death. While the mother bled throughout the night.
