  • Of all the things we can do with this, 90% of LLeakers want to ejaculate onto it.

    • @FoodPig its the cost of making and the cost of lives that would be at risk if we did have hover bikes.
      Too dangerous

  • As surely many of my fellows LLers, i searched for the "WHY ?".

Avoid contact with a container allows for example to synthesize substances in amorphous state (non-crystalline): the pharmacy is interested, as amorphous products are much more soluble and biocompatible as crystalline products. This system allows us to study the best way to get them.

Test content, without the container: not easy! However, in chemistry and pharmacy, many products may be affected by the container that cont More..

They may be more soluble and bio-compatible, but are often less stable. Stability is an important consideration in drug design. And anyway I'm sure there's other cheaper ways of doing this without the NASA factor.

  • And still there are religious nuts out there who say all science is just "theory"...

  • Why does this not seem so impressive? I've seen a salamander regrow its limb, now that was impressive.

    • @smorg It would probably look quite amusing when your molecules would bob and weave as your insides would explode out your pee hole and the rest of you would get torn apart, oscillating merrily and dancing in mid-air.

All I know is that gravity means nothing to them. Witnessed them change directions and accelerate at speeds that would turn a man into mush, faster than your eye at a great distance, travelling away from you - that's hellishly fast.

    • @N4CR Miguel Alcubierre wrote a PhD paper on that very topic; super-luminal speeds in a craft. He says you can do a right-angle turn and not feel any inertia, navigate because you can still see the stars and any light, etc.

There's a brief about him and his paper called 'The Warp Drive: Hyper-fast travel within general relativity' on Wiki.

    • @N4CR I have seen that exact same thing over the sierras. Turns and speeds that were amazing..once..one time.

Thank you, have seen the name mentioned a few times but not read any of his stuff. After what you have written I will, certainly piqued my interest.
