  • I know the game America's Army was used as a recruiting tool back when I was graduating high school. That's not a secret at all, but this is just blatant propaganda.

Also, learn the difference between AWOL and desertion. Just another post to feed the stupid.

  • Video game recruting is kind of true. America's Army was designed to be a recruiting tool, but it doesn't actually solicit people or anything like that.

AWOL rate rising? Lie. Notice they just make a proclamation and do not cite a source.

    • @Martyr_Machine You know that the rate of Suicides among our military is One A Day? 2012 has been a record year for military suicides. You don't think the AWOL's would go up too?

Google Military suicides spike (LA TIMES) June 8TH 2012

    • @newton

As you can see, I am in the military - the US Army to be exact. The LA Times also *falsely* reported that 25% of all welfare claims were fraudulent.

Notice the data is incomplete? It only represents 155 days of the year? Notice that the communist times also does not provide a link to the study?

Lastly, your causation logic is on par with 8th graders.

    • @nexus1961 the vid is from 2010 and as far as i can tell, no one else even mentioned the army report stating awol soldiers had risen more than 200%. maybe the army knows that if potential recruits hear veteran soldiers don't want to fight, they might reconsider. you wouldn't want to upset the status quo.

  • yup, now that war is broadcast on tv daily, it has lost its heroic patriotic glamour as people see what war is really like.

  • I went to a Canadian Forces recruiting camp at a armory in Vancouver. They told us all the realism of how fucked up Afghanistan was and warned us how real shit gets when your actually put into the field. There was no fuckin mascot in a suit or videogames, exceptions for shooting the C7A2 simulated with compressed air.

  • TRUTH.
The army has had it's own videogame out since July 4th 2002,
America's Army is the name, it's Free.

Google Online Army Recruiting Game Reaches Top 5 List (From Army News Service)

It is an article about it from 2004.

    Again, it is the Truth.

They have video games in some of their recruitment centers. That being said, who can deny that they are used for recruitment?
