This was during the Christmas Nor'easter of 2010, better known as snowicane, snowpocolypse, and other crazy slang you can throw out of the box. What you see in the video is 150th Street in Queens, NY., one of the many, many, many local streets in New York City without a single plow going through since the fall of the first snowflake.

Now not only was the snow storm one of the record worst to hit the Northeast, but also under the management of our beloved Mayor Mike Bloomberg, decided to lay off lots of sanitation workers and cut off a load of budget from the department. After the storm, he blamed the sanitation workers "unacceptable" when the workers were outnumbered by the enormous tasks of clearing the streets of New York as well as a few "rogue" workers who decided to use this as an opportunity to carry out a protest by not clearing the snow!

Regardless of the conflict between the NYC department of sanitation and the mayor's office, guess who end up paying the price? US! The middle-class working New Yorkers' who are paying more and more taxes in the midst of the unemployment rate and more service cuts. Several people died from emergencies throughout the week, as ambulances, police, and fire trucks got stuck right outside of their station! So who's really to blame, you be the judge!
