  • Without Voter ID how can you know if there is vote fraud? The answer is you can't. Citizens could vote multiple times at different polling places. Any foreign tourist that is present in the country at the time of polling could vote. Illegal aliens could vote. Dead people could vote. Hell, even my cattle could vote and without this law, maybe they will.

  • When I voted in the primaries in my state, they asked to see my ID and I was more than happy to present it. My name was on the registered voters list and they checked my ID to see if it matched up.
    I see absolutely NO problem with strict enforcement of voter ID laws to make sure that only USA citizens who are registered to vote, vote.

And a veteran who worries more about going up and down stairs than paying his electric bill doesn't deserve to vote?! Or the senior citizen voting for 60+ years who doesn't have a birth certificate and could end up spending $200 when he doesn't even have fucking $2... Who the fuck said this was about race.

    • @squidlipz Well, the whole registering thing is a bit weird. Seem to be 100% pointless. Every citizen should be registered by default every election without any party affiliation requirement. It serves no purpose to declare party affiliation before voting. To be registered at a location makes sense. That is, so you can only vote in one location. Otherwise they'd have to have an electronic reference system to check if you have already voted somewhere else. That's not a good idea.

    • @docyoung Well. Thin kabout it this way. Maybe getting an ID should be made a bit more easy! That would solve the problem. Perhaps some people have never needed an ID before, and therefore do not have one, and no Birth Certificate either. That is unfortunate, and surely, something should be done about that even if there are not voter ID laws. I don't see how a veteran's handicap would stop him from having identification.     • @docyoung Dude, a USA military veteran should already have a government ID, they were in the service FFS. And senior citizens need ID to collect their SS benefits and cash their checks, so my guess is they have a government ID of some kind already. If they need a ride to the polling places, there are people who are more than willing to take them to the polls if they want to vote, and I'm one of them. So your arguement is moot...

    • @wellybub I know plenty of citizens who aren't registered and don't want to vote, and that's fine by me. I also know plenty of people who ARE registered and choose not to vote, for whatever reason, and that's cool too.
      Thing about registering is, it's EXTREMELY EASY to do. You just get the form from the post office, or where-ever, fill it out, and send it in.
