SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - A citizen with a gun stopped a knife wielding man as he began stabbing people Thursday evening at the downtown Salt Lake City Smith's store.
Police say the suspect purchased a knife inside the store and then turned it into a weapon. Smith's employee Dorothy Espinoza says, "He pulled it out and stood outside the Smiths in the foyer. And just started stabbing people and yelling you killed my people. You killed my people."
Espinoza says, the knife wielding man seriously injured two people. "There is blood all over. One got stabbed in the stomach and got stabbed in the head and held his hands and got stabbed all over the arms."
Then, before the suspect could find another victim - a citizen with a gun stopped the madness. "A guy pulled gun on him and told him to drop his weapon or he would shoot him. So, he dropped his weapon and the people from Smith's grabbed him."

All you Mamby Pamby muthafkrs who are against LEGAL conceal carry, kiss my ass. A good citizen there at the right time and he handled it the way I would hope any responsible CC person would, he told him to drop his weapon and that was it, he didn't even fire a shot. Great job to the citizen who saved the day.

To the man who was carrying a gun.
The people who were randomly attacked could have been anyone walking in to a grocery store. A mother, a grand mother a sister, etc. Because you took it upon yourself to stand up and exercise your Constitutional Right you were there to stop further tragedy and heartbreak.
Thank you.
What we don't need is a politician going nuts about passing a law to ban the selling of knives at a grocery store.

@fotoman4u2 - As do I. You never know when you'll need to defend yourself or others.
Conceal Carry benefits those who choose not to carry, by always keep the scumbags wondering who is and who is not carrying. They usually turn to theft and or burglary.

If it was Illinois they would of arrested the guy with the gun and charged him with a few felonies.

@Panzerkilla2 Unless The gun was transported in a case with ammo separate. He then could have loaded the gun and stopped this nut job. It could have been done legally in Illinois...but more people could have been hurt. Illinois sucks...thanks to Cook County

@Disturbed Yes Illinois does suck and it's likely the guy would of got stabbed before he was able to chambered a round...I'm not a fan of Illinois gun laws but I do abide them.

@Panzerkilla2 I abide by them as well...Some over zealous cop tried to arrest me at 1AM a few years ago because I had 1 .40 cal bullet in my middle console, Gun secured in the trunk. I LOL'd in his face. I never got charged. But it's pretty fucking sad when police don't even know the laws they are supposed to uphold.
