New video has emerged of the crash at LaGuardia airport, New York, on Monday 22nd July.
The landing gear collapsed on landing. 10 minor injuries, 6 people briefly hospitalized. There were no indications of any problems on approach, however the plane was delayed before takeoff in Nashville, Tenn., due to tire problems.
UPDATE: This incident was caused by a nose-down landing resulting in the front landing gear collapsing, and the plane skidding to a stop. This plane is designed to land nose-up, with the rear, more sturdy, landing gear taking the brunt of the impact. Whether pilot error was the cause is still being investigated, however in my opinion it seems likely.
