Wreck on Ninja 250 (Gopro)

First person view of a buddy of mine getting in a wreck last February with my GoPro on. Injuries were a concussion and broken collar bone. He had not been riding too long at this point and didn't commit to the turn (got spooked by how he came up on it). First time he had the GoPro on him on the bike. Second time the camera mount snapped and that camera was destroyed by a BMW 318. 3rd time we had the GoPro on with him riding is the the other bike wreck. Seems he has a curse with cameras.

(This is part of a 15 minute ride video, its not like he just got on his bike and dumped it we ride all the time. Everyone on a motorcycle fucks up at some point he just happened to catch his first time eating shit on cam)

Ever considered he may have a curse with motorbikes?

    • @supernovah More worried about filming himself and showing off his bike to youtubers than actually learning how to ride first....ehhh

with people like that, they are more trying to impress the people who could potentially (if any) watch the video, not trying to be safe (sissylike) and take things slowly

believe it or not, using the gopro actually causes people to drive worse, depending on the person and their ego

  • He doesn't have a clue how to take a corner. Should probably give up motorcycles.

  • Hi all!

I'm the "noob" "idiot" "owner of a girl bike" "Organ donor" "<insert generic insult here>" in this video, just giving my 2 cents on this video, and all of your comments.

Some history: I started on a YZ-80, and that was just to mess around. Why did I get a Ninja 250? I wasn't looking for some GSZXCBRR10,000 to make my cock bigger, use 1/100th of it's power in 20mph zones, or to sit in a garage while I worry about if someone is goin More..

    • @RedMongoose yeah i dont think it was you, i think it was the camera :) Luckily no harm done to anyone, get to know your bike and pretend your invisible to other road users, you should be okay.

    • @Fennefar Like mentioned, I would have feared more for the cyclist for just being on that road. It's a lone highway connecting a small town to the mountain access roads, with speed limits up to 55mph- I would have been the least of their worries, but I agree- that could have been compounded. I'm also glad there was no fence in that field I ran into, or any trees.

    • @RedMongoose
As long as you learnt a lesson and could walk away all the power to you, I had an eerily similar accident about 6 years ago when I first got my old GSXR 600, same left hand type corner, too fast, didn't commit, hit a storm water drain and bam, luckily no injuries tho. I applaud you for having the nuts to step up and write what you did, accepting the criticism and realizing your mistakes, most don't, I hope you continue to grow in ability and maturity because biking can and should b More..

  • That`s it? Did you intentionally do this? If no, quit riding while you are still alive.

    • @Gammelfisch If you push your limits, experienced or not, this can be the outcome. I'm sure you've tripped while simply walking. Or crashed while riding your bicycle.

Yeah, but if I walk in a place where I haven't walked before... lets say an icy forest.. then I'll walk carefully. He did not drive carefully. This is just not a "little" dangerous. We have enough videos proving that.

    • @Caligula He could have known the corner, yet still be trying to see how fast he can go (pushing his limits) and now he knows. Definitly dangerous and idiotic no doubt. He really should do that at the track where others are riding for the same purpose.

    • @Gogo_gadget_wang_slap I'm sure he knows that, as well as everyone else. Do you think he'd be riding a 250cc ninja if he was an experienced rider?

  • Well, I can offer some positive feedback.

    1. Take your local MSF training course.

    2. If you don't have countersteer in muscle memory, then practice, practice, practice.

    3. Read Proficient Motorcycling, Twist of the Wrist, etc.

    4. The bike can turn more than you think it can. Press the handlebar more!

    5. Set your speed before the turn so you can throttle on during the turn.

    6. Keep your weight off the handlebar, especially when braking.

    7. Watch out for locking up the front wheel in slippe More..

    • @bikedude88 I respect your statement, but I do think this clown needs to respect others on the road. He was going way too fast for this type of road. If he wants to race, he should book some track days.

    Posted Jan-8-2013 By

  • This happens to new riders occasionally, and not always because they're speeding. The biggest issue is lack of experience, in my opinion. Another cause is no prior planning and no training in counter-steering. If this rider had been taught, "If you're running wide on a corner, stay calm and press forward on the inside handle bar," he probably would have forgotten the whole incident in 30 seconds.

  • i wonder how many people here are natural with turning left to turn right. this guy sure wasn't.

my guess is most people responding bitching about this guy crashing havent taken any bike to a speed where steering becomes quite unnatural on tight turns like that. and if they have, they should know that they once learned how to ride a bike too. no one is born with the ability, we all develop it.

  • Stuff like this is why I never got a GoPro. I just about pick one up at the store, and every time, I end up thinking about how every poor sod who buys one ends up filming their own injury or death. Kinda like carrying a Mountain Dew in DayZ. It's a death warrant.

I've got one of those in my shed, and I flog the fuck out of it when I'm in the mood, they're a great little bike, but I don't take corners like that!

    • @shemalescrotum He clearly has no idea how to ride a bike. At the speed he was going he should have been able to take that corner easily.
