  • the police force has a lot of catholics. These idiots have very little support, mainly because they destroy the areas they live in and hijack cars from their own areas to burn. They just look for any excuse to throw stones and do their cause, whatever the fuck that is, no favours.

The troubles are over, the 'brits' arrived hundreds of years ago. Lick your fucking wounds and get on with your lives. Stop destroying your communities and local businesses by running around like mindless no-hoper More..

  • can someone be a little more specific than to say they're protesting due to religion?

    • They aren't happy about the Orange Order being allowed to march through a catholic area of the city.
      This happens every year.

    • The religious divide in the north just happens to fit with the ideological divide hence the confusion most outsiders have with whats going on. The troubles in the north are about a minority (40% or so) Nationalist/republican and incidently catholic group who want a united ireland vs a majority (60% or so) Unionist/Loyalist group who want to the north to be part of the UK.
When Ireland won its independence in 1921 the UK kept the northern 6 counties as the majority there wanted to remain in the More..

    • Thanks Firefly, I'm more clear now. I would like to see a united Ireland also just makes more sense. I feel the smaller the groups the easier to govern.

  • Fucking Brits. They gave their country up to goatfuckers, but won't give Irish their freedom.

  • easy solution---dont let anti catholic organisations march in catholic areas, if anti black groups marched through a black area in US there would be trouble etc

    • That's where most of you get it wrong across the Atlantic. The majority of the people in NI are protestant and remain loyal to the UK...it's called democracy. A shame that was over looked when so many Americans were fund raising for the IRA. I'm pretty certain the USA would hold a dim view if we started funding minority Texas separatists terrorists.

    • Well if democracy was so important to the UK why did they partition the state in the first place. After all in 1921 the majority of people on the island of Ireland wanted independence but the British decided that they should divide the place up. Worked well. Just like the middle east/ pakistan/ most of africa. Almost all the worlds big conflict zones can trace their origin back to idiots in the UK drawing straight lines down maps and saying "Hey Presto!
      Thats now a country!"
      When the More..

  • The Orange order are Holland supporters???

    Posted Jul-15-2010 By

    (1)

    • holland? yes. Well, an old protestant dutch king who at the time was the king of england. He fought a battle in ireland against the jacobites, who were trying to reinstate the scottish king james vii to the throne of england, while being supported by the french king louis XIV.

No, it doesn't make any sense. Though neither does holding an 800 year grudge.

Also, the last statistics i read put the catholic members of the poloice force at nearly 30%, with an active attempt to reach 50%.

      Yo More..

  • Where are all the Irish rebels? Did they all move to NYC?

    Posted Jul-15-2010 By

  • look, if you're gonna protest there are two ways, violent and non-violent. if you choose to use violence, at least bring guns, knives, bombs and molitov cocktails. if you are not gonna use violence than bring a guitar and sing songs, have a sit in and maybe throw the occasional paint filled water balloon.
