Korea eats 2,000,000 dogs a year generating $1.5 billion US dollars.

Koreans eat dogs all year long whereas its neighbour China eats dogs only in winter time. Asians believe dog meat can make a person immune to cold weather and increase sexual prowess. Korea is colder than all its neighbour and maybe that is why koreans like to eat dog meat.

Captured stray dogs can no longer satisfy the demand,so a new breed of dog is developed specifically for human consumption. The new breed is a large size dog similar to mastiff.

Of course, it is a tradition, so people have to respect that. If not, then should people in India complain about the amount of beef eaten by Americans every year?
