The troops are probably not trained, this group is going up against a very unorganized and probably frightened Syrian regular Army troops. These outposts are POORLY manned, and these rebel rats attack in fast large numbers. They are effective against the checkpoints, small outposts, and what looks like the 3rd Anti Air battery they've taken.
