ive been shot in the face several of times by those never once did it break skin even up close the only way it could of happened i could think of is if they rigged the gun to be more powerful

Those little .177 airsoft rounds hurt a hell of a lot more than the .68 paintball and do a lot more damage. I'll stick to paintball, thanks... :)

@Scrubby001 Me too. But then there aren't around any airsoft fields in germany anyway. Hell, even the 300 fps cap on paintball guns (like you have to use in tournaments to have a chance to get to the other side of the field) is illegal here. Only 214 fps (7 Joule) allowed. They check that (on none tournament fields mostly).

I think it's all about how much force is allowed on the field for those guns. Playing without mask (but with glasses of course) seems to be more fun.

@JeremiahHarm PB masks are more then enough to hold a BB. Not a steel one, but the airsoft ones. We use 400fps on automatics and 450 on springs at our fields. EyePro is MANDITORY, but face is optional with the rules don't bitch if you get hit in the face with no Protection. My Monster-in-Law is a dentist, and if i ever came in with shattered teeth because of it.. i would be having them fixed with no painkillers! Glasses only is more fun, But since i wear glasses and don't have contacts i'm limit More..

@Aariss But paintballs are also larger so all you can really get is a bruise. And yeah, I got a lot of them when I was beginning with paintball :)
The automatic aisoft guns with more power are illegal in germany. But you can get the spare parts to correct that mistake ;)

@JeremiahHarm BB's rarely break skin. except at close range. At that same range Paintballs are going to hurt like motherfucker and do more then just bruise! That is what the masks are made for.
