Gov. Scott Walker victory speech

Any doubts about this man's abilities as a politician should be laid to rest. Winning twice in less than two years after one of the most massive efforts in decades by unions to unseat an elected official, and then giving a speech like this? Scott Walker wins.

Actual speech starts just before the 1-minute mark.

  • Wisconsin unions crushed and emasculated. The people have sent a clear message to the unions and their legions of thugs that political cronyism has been thoroughly repudiated..twice. The effort to pry the democrat lip lock on union money crotch proved successful. Congratulations to the ommon sense people of Wisconsin, what a thorough ass whipping. Best part, Ed Schultz sniveling on MSNBC.

They've been setting this up for the past several days as the polls running up to the election were showing a 6-7% win for Walker. Whereas what was happening in Wisconsin had all kinds of national implications just a few months ago, suddenly this week it has none, and apparently this actually improves Obama's chances. It's all spin. The professional left is working overtime to find ways to make lemonade out of the lemons that Wisconsin voters have resoundingly handed them. It' More..

  • People said America needed a revolution; they never guessed that it wouldn't be in favor of union thugs. This is the first step in what will hopefully be a nationwide movement.

After living in California, I found it baffling that this man thanked God and his voters for their prayers. America needs someone like him, not Obama. Also, his praise of our troops seems.. genuine. Same goes for his views of America being the greatest country in the world.

Edit: I noticed that he has the Bill Clinton h More..

lol That hand gesture is drilled into politicians anymore. Pointing one's finger sends aggressive signals that turns off some people, but politicians need to have a pointing gesture that isn't offensive to anyone. Gesturing without the index finger out is the focus-group tested gesture.

It's worth noting that Bill Clinton doesn't use that gesture ever since he left the White House. Now? Watch that finger wag.

Actually, this is the first time in American history that a governor has ever survived a recall. Usually, if people organize enough petition signatures to force a recall, the recall is successful. Granted, this was only the third gubernatorial recall, and it was the first in many, many years. But, still, the standing governor won, which has never happened before.

Fair enough, although those money numbers are a bit skewed coming from Democrats. The outside spending in the election was huge, and many independent groups ran ads. The unions spent a lot more money on the recall than Barrett's campaign actually did, and when media groups started to compare total spending of candidates and outside groups a couple weeks ago, the dollar totals looked a lot closer than the $30 million to $4 million that Democrats are reporting.

Part of the money pro More..

  • I would love to see all the defeated liberals in Wisconsin flee to Illinois, (like the WI lawmakers did a few months ago) and all the Republicans in Illinois move to Wisconsin. Wisconsin would become a paradise, and Illinois would become worse than, well, current Illinois.
The long-time Democrat state of Wisconsin is now a Republican state, thanks to the libtards, unions, and the cost of this recall being footed by WI taxpayers because Walker is balancing the budget.

  • Still waiting to hear on the final state senate recall vote result out of Racine County, but the rest of the races are all sewn up. About half the votes are counted in the last state senate race, and the GOP candidate is up 55%-45%. If that holds, then it's a GOP sweep.

This is disaster for Democrats in the state, and particularly for unions. They spent their all in Wisconsin trying to get Walker unseated, but they fumbled again and again, first by running state senate recalls last year that More..
