Syria- The Christian community supports president Bashar Al Assad
Part of channel(s): Syria (current event)

As above.
Shouldn't we Christians support & protect "our" people in this crisis instead of fundamental Islamists?

Thank you, what most people fail to realise is that the Christians of Syria in fact of Iraq and Iran are indigenous to the land.

Also for reference sake the Christians of Syria,Iran and Iraq all originated from Mesopotamia (ninvieh planes) they have been driven by years of persecution.

How do I know? I am apart of them, they are called Assyrian's/Chaldeans today.

lol dude firstly before you make an ignorant un-informed comment do your research, secondly the indigenous inhabitants of northern Iraq are not only traced back to Mesopotamians but also Sumerian roots.

Search the and read their History and what you will find out It is Assyrian civilization became the foundation of the Arab civilizations. Hence we are not the same do not get confused.

I can see the interest history. I think though that the priority should be for all of us to get along. If history made that we are here, alive, then we should build on that for the best and not let wars from the past prevent us from growing togetter. We can change, it just takes the common will.

  • Why should we side with Christians who happen to side with Assad? If Assad himself was a Christian we'd still want to take him down.

  • assad represents something else. sovereignty. secular sovereignty. it could be forwarded that the powers who are bearing down through their islamic agents are opposed to the very idea of separateness, much like the Borg from star trek. these are global powers, who insist on having control over the whole shebang. look who is backing assad. russia. why? because they know that after syria, and iran, they would find themselves in the crosshairs eventually.

so who is this global elite? paying a s More..

    • @Yogsoggoth Assad represents the dictatorships and secret police states of the 20th century. Being backed by Russia is a condemnation, Russia is anti-democratic.

  • In a few days, perhaps as early as Friday, June 15, at noon, the Syrians wanting to watch their national TV stations will see them replaced on their screens by TV programs created by the CIA. Studio-shot images will show massacres that are blamed on the Syrian Government, people demonstrating, ministers and generals resigning from their posts, President Al-Assad fleeing, the rebels gathering in the big city centers, and a new government installing itself in the presidential palace.

No, just a response to "EMAG-K"'s post: "When there is religion, there is war."

My point being that sometimes there is war, and death, sans religion.
Matter of fact, communist regimes killed more people that all religious wars combined. Ever.

My point was that war and killing happen in the absence of religion too. You said, "When there is religion, there is war".
My point is, the biggest crimes against humanity happened in the absence of Religion.

(Can't forget the other commie killing fields in China and Kampuchea.)

  • Christians should try to promote peace, and not take sides. Just because the rebels are fundamentalist islamic militant terrorists, does not necessarily mean that Assad is a Christian saint. He may be on their side, but he might also be evil. Christians certainly should not be on the side of the rebels, because they persecute people. Christians and political opponents. They shoot off the rops of their heads with machine guns. A person with a conscience wouldn't support that.

  • So, because the Christian community supports one side or another, we should use that, as our sole criteria for deciding what side of this war to support? Really?

How fucked in the head is that?

I say let the meat-grinder continue. Fuck them all over there.

  • From such an empty mind I expect nothing more. . This is the dark age thinking of the Bashar propaganda puppets. No, we shouldn't support "our people", we should support government with the consent of the governed. That is what this revolution is about. Syria is run by a family dictatorship that represents a tiny minority of the country, and now the Sunni majority is taking up arms against them.
