  • Looks like you guys are going to have lots of fun this summer.When i was about 14 i bought a fiberglass duneBuggy from my older brother and then bought an old wrecked VW bug for the motor and i had more fun running around in the bug with one door missing and the roof mashed down a little then i did after putting the motor in the duneBuggy. But i was way cooler in the buggy then i ever was in the banged up bug,plus the headers made it sound cool as h3ll,,,hahaha

  • The vehicle has a minimum weight requirement so we try to put all the weight at the bottom so it has a lower center of gravity.

    Sounded like a Corvair motor an if so is it the 95/110 or the 140?...lol...know it couldn't be the 180 turbo cuz it couldn't git boost fast enough.They were dogs in spoolin up.

  • its a stock VW 1500cc engine, in the class we are racing we are restricted to stock engine stock front end. the frame can be what ever we want. this video was from friday so i will put up more videos next week when we go test it out in the nevada desert.

    • We are racing with B.O.R. it's mostly people from Utah and Nevada it's not as big as promoters like MORE or SCORE but it's growing.

  • Great vid men - I love the face on your man when he comes back in to the garage and says "ITs too heavy" That look was just choice and then figuring it out to be 500lbs of sheet metal.

    • well the first time we drove it it was just an open frame the bottom it 1/4 inch steel plates so thats where we got the 500 lbs from

    • are you expecting trouble? I'd say some 4mm plating would have been enough to stop any major debris .

      Are you expecting land mines or was it just so you couldn't see the ground :)

      500lbs seems like an incredible amount of weight. Thats like a car in itself.

      all you need now is a flame thrower out the back and blades on the wheels. It'd be rad!! ;)
