Raw video:January 07/09,WASHINGTON DC.Allegations of excessive force are being made against two District police officers after a violent arrest is caught on tape.

The footage was posted on the video sharing site YouTube and is entitled, "How the Washington D.C. police lock up Black Man." [Sic] The video begins with a 27-year-old man running. Police sources say he was caught breaking into an apartment.

The suspect is shown being pursued on foot by two officers identified by D.C. police as sergeants.

"Get down on your back, punk," an officer is heard saying.

The suspect is eventually caught after trying to jump a fence. It appears from watching the video that one of the sergeants gets the man down on the ground while the other one hits the suspect in the head area and jams his knee into him.

"Get that piece of [expletive]," a sergeant is heard saying. "You better get down you [expletive]."

After allegedly asking the suspect, "How's that?", a female officer is seen approaching the three. She yells twice for the officer to stop.

Once the suspect is handcuffed he is led to a nearby parking lot. There appears to be an exchange of words between the suspect and one of the sergeants. While in handcuffs, the sergeant appears to grab and push the suspect in his head area, twice. A patrol car pulls up, other officers arrive and the video ends.

According to the YouTube Web site, the video was posted by "brothalc" who wrote that he has a very good camera that picks up everything. One person, claiming to be a bystander, wrote back and said that the suspect was fighting and resisting and that he was also spitting.

"I have friends that are cops there's no vendetta or trying to get at 'em I just thought they handled that situation, they just went overboard," said Leonard Canady, who lives in the apartment building near where the arrest took place. "You know it's good cop bad cop -- they reflected themselves as bad cops," he said.
