@Zumbee China is doing this. Go to walmart and all the forms and spoons there are rescraped metal from Japanese tsunami ships...... the nuclear contaminants? Oh, China doesn't test for those. Enjoy your cheap goods at the local walmarts!

@Megadeth ...because this video is not what it appears - it has been spliced. The burning ship at the end is not the one being fired upon.
Aside from that - the aim isn't to sink, just to disable the vessel and remove the threat.

Actually, it was a training excersize built in to the planned sinking as was the target practice.

did the coast guard remove all of the fuel and oil from the vessel before sinking it? we wouldn't want to pollute the ocean.

@Penguinister The commander of the coastguard said the 4,000 liters of diesel will dissipate locally when it escape because its a few hundred miles of the coast so it wont make landfall,its the other millions of tones of debris which will be fun thats heading for the coast of Canada and the USA

@ingeborgsjon Uh, hello? It's a worthless, battered fishing boat that was almost worthless even before the tsunami. Plus, issues of marine salvage can be a huge headache. Marine courts are totally different from regular courts.
