Quoted comment by Doyle1: Scooters fault, he slowed down trying to change lanes, truck behind him was to heavy to attempt a full stop.
Normally, I wouldn't agree that it wasn't the scooters fault - but in all honesty, there surely has to be a limit to where Scooters should go!
In Australia, Scooters are not allowed on freeways - and I can't help but wonder, after having seen at least 6 scooter accidents (fortunately not as horrible as this) in Brisbane, over the past five years.
They are not like a common road motorcycle, in the sense that they do not have a fast enough manoeuvrability to match the driver's reaction - so in that even on a sudden turn at 25 degrees is much harder to do so on a Moped, than a Ducatti.
And on that note, to all Scooter drivers out there - DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT think you can get away with sliding in between stationary cars at a red light, and try to take off infront. You risk yourself being injured, by thinking its cool for a heavier, more powerful moving object to be waiting behind your puncy acceleration. Wait your turn!

Well, you're safer on a scooter of you watch what the hell you're doing. He pulled right in front of that truck.

At least he/she was wearing a crash helmet. Because of that, they survived.
