  • Civics is no longer taught in many schools. This country won't last without the lessons.

  • I really cannot fault this.
Great sound, nice framing, excellent delivery.

Dunno about the content, he could just be making it all up.
    He gives no references.

I'm going for a mixture of animatronics, CGI and a Sorkin script.

Very very nice result. More please :-)

    • @ommadawn

Thanks. I'm flattered. Especially since you know very well that the editing was choppy, the sound uneven, the light strangely diffused (from me doing a poor job super-gluing a loose lens back to the camera) and my speaking style more hesitant than usual.

The thing I can never really understand, however, is why my low quality, thrown-together videos tend to be well received, while my polished productions are usually not?

Think of your favourite Beatles song. Being played on an AM radio, quality crap as hell. The content makes it through every time.

The thing I have learnt about this video stuff is that if you ain't got the raw content, you ain't got nothin' - how ever much you try to dress it up.

You can polish stuff up until you polish the life out of it. Just like with recorded music.

  • Government needs to get cut back n politics need to get back to basics,it´s about the people all the little folk n the only validation for a government´s to secure their citizens their right to live their own life

  • I thought the deal with Columbus was he didn't land on the landmass that later became the U.S. mainland. (He did stop at Puerto Rico, tho.)

    • @joe prole I think it was a trick question, perhaps. The least tricky way to ask the question would have been, "Did Columbus discover North America".

  • Nice work John,

I stand in absolute support of your overall premise, in fact I have my pocket constitution right here in front of me (available from the GPO for like $1.50) and it always is when I am at my computer, or in my car or working since I have a third copy in my attache case.

I would like to point out that article 1 section 3 of the US Constitution mandates that the state legislatures elect our senators: "The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from eac More..

    • @USA Citizen

Thanks. I stand corrected. Though worth noting that the Seventeenth Amendment still left it up to the states to define who could actually vote.

    • @john1054 Touche!

The guiding principal being "the Electors in each State shall have the Qualifications requisite for Electors of the most numerous Branch of the State Legislature."

So if you can vote for representation in your states lower house, you can also vote for your states senator.

However the 26th, 19th and 15th amendments prevent the states from restricting these persons based on age, sex, or race so in that it is not totally up to the states.

      I like this John1054 guy.
