Royal Marines clear insurgents from the northern Helmand village of Barikju

Operation Volcano was mounted to clear insurgents from firing points in the village of Barikju, north of Kajaki, Afghanistan. Surveillance over the past two months had observed numerous enemy forces conducting sentries in two main positions with an administration area to the rear. The village of Barikju is completely deserted except for insurgent forces.

  • Quoted comment by Crush Neocon Skulls: After 5 years, the country is still in chaos. The US is begging other NATO countries to send in more troops. I'd like to see Canada withdraw our troops from Afghanistan and let the US deal with their own problems. The majority of Canadians dissaprove of the mission and don't want to see our troops used as cannon fodder for US imperialism.

They shouldn't have gone into Iraq, because the real problem is in Afganhistan. They should have got U.N. approval invade Iraq. But now that they did. Thet shouldn't pull out, and let the newly formed Rag-Heads ferment. They goTTA win now. Or else it's another Vietnam. Are you a Rag-Head?
