My family used to make our own sausages back in the day. We used the pig intestines (after cleaning them) as the casings. We filled them with lean pork mean, cooked it but not fully and the stored the sausages in jars full of pork fat. When we wanted to eat them we would take them out and cook them and they were the best sausages ever made.

Interesting post.
It's good to know that my bacon passes under a metal detector. The soothing non-descript music also makes the process of making bacon pleasant.

Check out your local grocery store they have pre cooked bacon in boxes! Shit just sits on the shelf too no need for refrigeration. I don't know if I would ever eat that. Actually I know I would never eat it but someone must like it cause they sell it

Yeah I think that's it the vaccuum sealing. That and the fact that all the real meat has been inundated with so many chemicals and preservatives it won't spoil in 100 years lol.
