London Transport's Report No4
the final phase of equipping the Underground Line from Walthamstow to Victoria from where the line derives it's name - the Victoria Line. It was later extended further to Brixton. Fine views and great footage of the engineering involved in this mammoth project which meant so much to Londoners. When complete it was possible to cross the city in less than 25 minutes - a journey that could take well over an hour by road. It enabled people to work further away from their home area.
