Denmark are reinforcing its battalion in Helmand with 3-4 light Fennec AS-550 helicopters plus 75 men.
The helicopters will preform observation, convoy-escort protection, light firesupport and transport.
It will mainly operate in and around Upper Geresk Valley known as the Green Zone.
The Fennec are equipped with a 360 degree FLIR system mounted under the nose, self protection-systems agaist heat-seaking missile and in Helmand it will have a door-mounted MG3 light machinegun.
