South Korea War Drill Invokes Frightening response from North Korea
North Korea threatened on Thursday to launch a "sacred" nuclear war against South Korea if it attacks, as Seoul staged military exercises that have raised already high tensions on the peninsula. Defence chief Kim Yong Chun said North Korea was fully prepared to launch a war and would use its nuclear capabilities if attacked and warned the South against intruding even the smallest amount on its territory. North Korea's anger has been piqued this week by South Korea's staging of live-fire drills on Yeonpyeong Island, which was shelled by the North's artillery on November 23.

I don't think North Korea will ever launch a full scale operation against the South without backing from the Chinese. Just a lot of rhetoric comes out of the North.
Its good to see South Korea taking a tougher stance.

I think to them it is just skirmishes like the ones that have occurred in the past. North Korea promised a military response to these drills and it has not come.
At the same time with the transition of power from Kim to his son there could be a lot of problems.

There's no telling what the crazy north korean leadership will do. They are so out of touch with the rest of the world the entire country may as well be underground. Dear leader may go nuts in his old age and order an attack (and probably get their asses kicked) but this time it is doubtful the Chinese will give them much backing. North korea is such a problem and liability the chinamen are ready to wash their hands of them.

Ever heard of the term fallout?
I live thousands of miles away from the recent volcanic activity but it still grounded the planes 30 miles away from where I live.
I also live thousands of miles away from Chernobyl but radioactivity still blanketed Europe and Britain,
and that wasn't even a nuclear explosion
Do something useful with your fallout shelter and turn it into an underground car park because it won't do you any other good.

Call their bluff. NK doesnt have the military to launch an invasion of the south. Once the call goes out, over half of the NK military will defect. I would hope that the average NK soldier wouldnt have the gumption to fight for a despotic regime.

Very unlikely. I'm pretty certain it won't be the case.
Before NK is defeated, they'll almost certainly destroy Seoul and kill a couple hundred thousand people, including several thousand US soldiers. And actually, if they are lucky, North can even win. Korea is a small country, and they have the numbers.
