@cgarcia1125
I've known several people over the years who've lost their lives on them and it wasn't always their fault.

@Ruffus I was interested at first and then they showed the injuries talked of amputation and it brought back too many memories of my past.
Couldnt finish. It's heartbreaking.

Fuuuuck. I remember watching this episode.
I wonder which was worse; this guy or the pic from years ago of that guy with no lower jaw and this tongue hanging out?

I'd want one of my prosthetics to be a Fleshlight.

The hospital staff did a great job patching up that guy. It must be depressing working in an ER. Hope that guy recovered.

I suppose the dude had a medical insurance.
Would he had received the same treatment if he did not have it?

@mcgus
That's a typical misunderstanding of the US health care system. Urgent medical treatment, like in this severe trauma case, are always treated. The medical insurance issue comes to play when it's something elective, like performing a hip-replacement (which is not urgent) or fixing glaucoma (again, not urgent).
I can't tell you how many MI's (heart attacks) I've treated on uninsured patients. It's part of what we do. The hospital always tries to claim the money afterwards, but usually end More..

@qbedobedoo
Thanks for the reply. It is quite clarifying.
I have a friend who got a peritonitis in the USA while on vacation there and they only treated him after he produced the money in advance for the surgery. And it was a lot of money. That is why I asked.
So if I understood, they will try to claim money from this biker, but they assume the cost if they cannot collect it.
And if this man needs another surgery in the future to try to fix any of the limbs, etc, will he need to pay for i More..
